Hudson Valley Senior Residence Awarded Grant

Posted June 19, 2019

The Hudson Valley Senior Residence has been awarded a $3,000 grant from the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation to purchase high-back chairs for the residents’ recreation and dining rooms. The new chairs will not only provide comfort but because they are light in weight, they will be easy to arrange and stacked for various activities

“Having new chairs will ensure the residents are comfortable and guarantee the quality of care that we are known to provide,” said Anna Mae Knowles, President—Board of Directors, Hudson Valley Senior Residence. “We are grateful for the grant from Ulster Savings to help us accomplish this,” she added.

As a nonprofit organization, for over 100 years, the Hudson Valley Senior Residence has provided a home-like environment for senior citizens who are no longer able to live alone but are not ready for the total care of a nursing facility. In 2013, they partnered with the Lutheran Care Network.

The Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation was formed in 2003 to assist the local community in areas of housing, education, and human services.
