WEDC Awarded $2,500 Grant from Charitable Foundation

The Women’s Enterprise Development Center (WEDC) has been awarded a $2,500 grant from the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation to support their training programs and services that help women and minority entrepreneurs to start and strengthen their small businesses. Since its founding in 1997, WEDC has assisted nearly 8,000 businesses and has opened doors to business ownership for low-to-moderate income women and minorities in Westchester and the Hudson Valley.

YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County Awarded Grant

The YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County has been awarded a $2,500 grant from the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation for Camp Starfish for Disadvantaged Youth, a low-cost summer program for at-risk elementary school children.

Breast Cancer Options Awarded $2,000 Grant

Breast Cancer Options, Inc. has been awarded a $2,000 grant from the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation for Camp Lightheart, a free sleepaway camp for children who have a mother with breast cancer or have lost their parent to the disease. Breast cancer patients, their families, and especially their children need support and there are few resources dedicated to them. Breast Cancer Options (BCO) started Camp Lightheart in 2007 to help fill this void and is still one of the only, if not the only, services for children in this situation.

Unshattered Awarded $5,000 Grant from Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation

Unshattered, Inc. has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation to invest in the development and delivery of a training curriculum to help former female addicts with professional development and training. This piece of their program will identify, structure, and deliver a curriculum that helps women become good employees, valuable members of the community, and encourages them to be a successful, thriving adult.

Wall Street Branch to Feature Painter Mercedes Cecilia

The exhibit entitled “Twelve” celebrates ASV’s 12th anniversary, with all artwork 12”x12.” It will be on display at the branch from July 1–31, 2019.

Hudson Valley Senior Residence Awarded Grant

Hudson Valley Foundation for Youth Health Awarded Grant for 3rd Annual Nonprofit Meetup

The Hudson Valley Foundation for Youth Health (HVFYH) has been awarded a $1,000 grant from the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation to support the work they do to empower children and teens to make healthful choices. The donation will be used for the 3rd Annual Nonprofit Meetup which will be held on October 24, 2019 at the Andy Murphy Midtown Neighborhood Center.
