Honoring our Anniversary with 170 Acts of Kindness

Without you, there would be no US.
Kindness matters, pass it on. #USBKind.

In honor of our 170th anniversary this year, we are celebrating with 170 acts of kindness in our communities.

Water for a Cause

On April 7, Devin Gibbs, a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, came to our Wappingers Falls branch to pick up 10 cases of bottled water that the branch donated to be used for their monthly food pantry. Parking was on US on Wall Street

On April 13, Rosa VanNostrand, Wall Street Branch Supervisor and Jose Lemus, Branch Manager, paid the meters for anyone parking in uptown Kingston near the Wall Street branch.

USB Gets Cheesy

The Newburgh branch teamed up with Pizza 300, their next-door neighbor, on Good Friday, April 2. The bank paid for 20 pizzas for random customers. Everyone was surprised when they arrived to pick up their pizzas and found them already paid for! The owners also thought this was a tremendous idea and wanted it to be known how appreciative they were. They’ve been hit hard by Covid and mentioned how this was a blessing. Pictured is Nino the manager of Pizza 300 with Newburgh branch manager Matthew.

Pizza, Pizza!

In March, our New Paltz branch offered free pizzas and delivery costs at no charge to random customers of local business Carry Out Kings. Pictured is New Paltz branch manager Rocco Pucino with Carry Out Kings owner Mike Katz.

Free Coffee for a Day

Valero gas station customers in Phoenicia enjoyed a free cup of coffee on US for one day. Store manager, Patrick Perkins was very grateful and took time out of his day for a photo op with our Phoenicia branch manager Samantha.

Mask Donation to Our Friends at UIDN

The Ulster Immigration Defense Network received 500 disposable masks from our Kingston branch at 180 Schwenk Drive. We were thanked for our kindness in many languages.

Lucky SWDS Customers get a Month of Garbage Removal on US

In March, we paid for one month of garbage removal for 17 SWDS customers. Stone Ridge branch manager Melissa Carlile and her feline friend post a certificate of kindness on an SWDS customer's bin.

Flowers and Kindness for Valentine's Day

Some lucky customers of Morgan's Florist in Poughkeepsie received discounts of $25 on their floral purchases over Valentine's Day weekend.

Kindness With Donations to Children in Need

One of our first Acts of Kindness was done by our 39 Burnett Blvd, Poughkeepsie team when they purchased toys, puzzles, and tons of books for the children at the local homeless shelter. They dropped off approximately 75 items to hopefully put a smile on a child's face!
