Ulster Savings Bank Receives ‘Doing Well by Doing Good’ Award

Posted March 16, 2023

Ulster Savings Bank, a local Hudson Valley icon, has been selected by Mastercard® for the Doing Well by Doing Good Award in its fourth annual Mastercard Community Institution Segment Awards for promoting community service.

This award recognizes Ulster Savings for the impact they have on their local communities and is reflective of all the hard work the bank has put into its philanthropy and charitable contributions. The bank supports non-profit organizations in the communities it serves, with an emphasis on helping causes that employees are directly engaged with--whether it’s through monetary donations, collecting needed items, or volunteering.

“Our team has taken their community commitment to the next level, and it shows in all that we've done and continue to do. We’re here to have a positive impact on everyone we serve, from our Board of Trustees to our management team, to every employee. To be given this award that supports our efforts to the public is awesome – we feel that this confirms our vital role to the communities we serve.” said bank President and CEO Bill Calderara.

For the past several years, Mastercard has highlighted impressive achievements from financial institutions for the impact they have on their local communities. The Community Institution Segment Awards were created to bring attention to Mastercard’s partners to celebrate their achievements. Recipients in the Doing Well by Doing Good category are selected based on the best use of assets in community service or charitable contributions.

In the announcement, Fred Grigsby and Paul Tobin from Mastercard’s Community Institutions division applauded Ulster Savings Bank by stating “This award is an impressive testament to Ulster Savings Bank’s commitment to making a difference and doing well by doing good in the communities they serve.”
